For My Aspie Children: Awareness in Claymation

Max talks about Aspergers from Gerald Thompson on Vimeo.

This is a snippet from a movie about a young girl who is a pen-pal with a middle aged man with Asperger's Syndrome.  In this scene he tells her a little about what it is like in his world.  It is a wonderfully accurate and compassionate portrayal of these amazing people.  I should know, I am mom to three of them.

Decided to watch it this evening. It is a thoroughly charming film, though very dark and not at all for children and contains a strong atheistic view and an acceptance of homosexuality (mild but there).

However, it absolutely speaks to the dignity of human life (if not from a Christian point of view and in as much as it addresses the issues of illness, loneliness, wellness...), is on point regarding people with Asperger's Syndrome and speaks to the need of all humans for true friendship/relationship.

For a solid Catholic able to work around the problematic issues mentioned above, it is a gem.
